Addiction Treatment Programs at Canyon Vista Recovery Center
Canyon Vista provides various programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. These programs are designed to extend beyond mere symptom management, focusing on fostering long-term recovery and overall well-being.
Various evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques help individuals heal from the underlying issues of their drug or alcohol addiction.
- Clinical Programming: Clinical programming includes therapeutic activities and structured treatment interventions that focus on the needs of each individual. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) are examples of therapies included in our clinical program.
- Holistic Addiction Treatment: Examples of holistic therapies and activities we offer include music therapy, art therapy, yoga, swimming, working out, spending time in nature, and gardening. These activities reduce stress, encourage healthy living, and restore brain function.
- Psychiatric and Medical Treatment: Many people who struggle with substance addiction also have a mental health disorder that occurs at the same time. When both disorders exist, they are called co-occurring disorders or dual diagnosis. Common mental health disorders that occur with addiction include anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. We will diagnose and treat co-occurring disorders, helping clients achieve whole-person healing.
- Life Skills: Many people do not have the skills they need to live independently, develop personally, and interact socially. Examples of life skills include how to shop, cook, set goals, and deal with the pressures of daily life that can cause a person to relapse.
Our treatment programs also include equine therapy, family healing, 12-step recovery groups, and ongoing recovery support.
Suboxone Opioid Treatment Program
Canyon Vista Recovery Center offers a program for overcoming opioid addiction by using suboxone. Suboxone is a medication made from a combination of two drugs, buprenorphine and naloxone. When an individual takes suboxone, it chemically decreases the intensity and severity of their cravings and withdrawal symptoms while reducing their need for opioids. Before starting suboxone treatment at Canyon Vista, individuals have a comprehensive assessment to make sure the medication is safe for them and to determine the correct dosage.
Tactical Recovery and Mental Health Programs
The Tactical Recovery Program provides specialized treatment for military Veterans, active military, and first responders. At Canyon Vista, trained clinicians are certified by PsychArmor once they have completed courses on Veteran-specific topics and military culture. The program is under the oversight of trained Veterans. Post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and addiction are all treated using a wide range of treatments that include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and group therapy sessions.
